PRODUCT OVERVIEW

One Goggle for Changing Mountain Light

Mountain light can change quickly. Bright sections of open piste can be followed by cloud, shade, snowfall or reduced visibility, making lens choice an important part of skiing and snowboarding.

SOULAR combines an OTG construction with a DCHROM® photochromic mirrored lens, creating a practical solution for winter sports users who want an adaptable lens without having to continually change lenses as conditions evolve.

The photochromic system is designed to modify lens darkness according to available UV exposure. In lower-light conditions the lens remains lighter, while stronger sunlight causes it to darken progressively. This helps maintain a more appropriate level of filtration as mountain conditions change during the day.

LENS TECHNOLOGY

DCHROM® Photochromic Mirrored Lens – Category 1 to 3

The defining feature of SOULAR is its DCHROM® photochromic lens with mirrored finish. Its Category 1–3 range allows the lens to work across different levels of daylight rather than being optimised for only one fixed condition.

Lighter Conditions

When UV exposure is reduced, the lens remains in a lighter state. This is useful when skiing under cloud cover, in shaded areas or during periods when available light becomes less intense.

Brighter Conditions

As UV exposure increases, the photochromic lens darkens progressively toward Category 3, providing stronger filtration for brighter winter conditions.

The mirrored outer surface adds the distinctive technical appearance of the SOULAR goggle while working together with the underlying photochromic lens system. The mirror finish itself should not be confused with photochromic technology: the adaptive behaviour is provided by the DCHROM® lens.

OTG COMPATIBILITY

Designed to Be Worn Over Prescription Glasses

For skiers who wear prescription eyewear, conventional goggles can create pressure around the temples or simply leave insufficient internal space. The OTG – Over The Glasses construction of SOULAR is specifically intended to accommodate prescription frames beneath the goggle.

The current product specifications confirm compatibility with large prescription frames and give a frame measuring approximately 13.00 cm wide × 6.00 cm high as an example of a suitable size.

Actual compatibility can also depend on the shape and thickness of the individual optical frame, but the generous internal volume makes SOULAR particularly suitable for users who need to keep their everyday prescription glasses on while skiing or snowboarding.

This is particularly relevant in snowy environments, where sunlight reaches the eyes both directly and through reflection from the snow surface. UV protection remains active independently of the visible darkness of the photochromic lens.
