Product Overview
Prescription Eyewear Built for Demanding Mountain Light
Strong sunlight at altitude, snow-covered terrain and glacier environments can create exceptionally intense visual conditions. OUTDOOR is designed specifically around this type of use, combining a dark Category 4 polarized lens with a high-coverage sports frame.
The wraparound Base 8 geometry provides extensive frontal and lateral coverage, helping reduce the amount of peripheral light reaching the eyes. Inside the frame, a removable prescription clip allows corrective lenses to be fitted by an optician while preserving the protective outer lens configuration.
This system is particularly useful for wearers who need prescription correction but also require specialist eyewear for bright mountain environments. The wider optical insert is designed to provide a broader field of view than smaller conventional prescription clips while offering a practical alternative to producing an entire Category 4 sports lens directly to prescription.
Polarized Category 4 Lenses for Extremely Bright Conditions
Category 4 lenses are designed for environments with very high levels of solar radiation, making them particularly appropriate for exposed mountain terrain, snowfields and glacier areas. Their darker filtration is intended for conditions where standard everyday sunglasses may not provide sufficient light reduction.
OUTDOOR also incorporates a polarizing filter. Polarization helps reduce reflected glare produced by surfaces such as snow and other highly reflective terrain. At the centre of the OUTDOOR prescription system is a removable optical insert. Prescription lenses can be fitted into this clip by your trusted optician, while the technical polarized Category 4 outer lenses remain unchanged.
The optical clip uses a Base 6 geometry, while the external sports lens uses a more strongly curved Base 8 configuration. This allows the outer frame to retain its wraparound mountain-sports design while the prescription component uses a less pronounced curvature.
According to the supplied specifications, the prescription insert can accommodate powers up to Sphere ±8.00 and Cylinder ±2.00, including bifocal lenses.
Fit & Protection
Wraparound Coverage with Removable Neoprene Sponge
OUTDOOR uses a high-coverage frame shape designed to reduce lateral light entry in exposed environments. A removable inner neoprene sponge sits between the frame and the face, helping create a closer fit.
During strenuous activity, the sponge helps limit sweat reaching the eye area. In windy mountain conditions, the closer fit can also help reduce direct exposure to snow, dust and small airborne debris.
Because the sponge is removable, the glasses can be adapted according to the activity, weather conditions and preferred fit.

The temple arms incorporate a dedicated Grip section designed to improve stability during movement, vibration and prolonged activity.
