The TIGER SUN READING is designed for athletes who need to switch quickly between looking ahead and reading close-range information from a cycling computer, GPS, sports watch or heart rate monitor. Its Category 3 smoke lens features a silver mirrored finish and a bifocal reading segment positioned in the lower part of the lens, allowing the main viewing area to remain dedicated to distance vision while the reading zone is available when required.
Developed for dynamic sports including cycling, mountain biking, running and trail running, this model combines a lightweight TR90 frame, adjustable nose pad, UV400 protection and a strongly curved Base 8 geometry for a close, sporty fit.
Reading small digital displays can become difficult during sport, particularly for athletes who require additional near-vision support. TIGER SUN READING addresses this requirement without turning the entire lens into a reading lens.
The main portion of the lens is intended for normal distance viewing, while the small graduated area positioned at the bottom can be used when you lower your gaze towards a bike computer, GPS display, watch or similar close-range device.
This configuration makes the glasses particularly practical for sports where the athlete needs a broad forward field of vision for most of the activity but occasionally needs to check information displayed nearby.
The wraparound Base 8 geometry provides the strongly curved profile typical of technical sports eyewear, while the adjustable nose pad allows the contact point around the nose to be fine-tuned for a more personalised fit.
TIGER SUN READING uses a Category 3 smoke lens with a silver mirrored outer finish. Category 3 lenses are designed for bright daylight conditions, making this configuration suitable for outdoor sporting activities in strong natural light.
The mirrored finish is applied to the outside of the lens and contributes to the distinctive technical appearance of the model. The underlying smoke tint provides a comfortable visual filter for bright conditions without altering the bifocal function of the lower reading area.
TIGER SUN READING is available with three different positive powers in the lower reading segment. This allows the user to choose the option that corresponds to their near-vision requirement while keeping the principal area of the lens dedicated to distance viewing.
The polycarbonate lenses provide UV400 protection, designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm and therefore covering UVA and UVB wavelengths.
Polycarbonate is particularly suitable for sports eyewear because it combines low weight with good resistance to impact and fragmentation compared with more brittle lens materials. These characteristics are especially relevant during activities such as cycling and trail running, where eyewear may be exposed to movement, vibrations and accidental contact with small debris.
The frame is made from TR90, a material widely used in technical sports eyewear for its combination of lightness, flexibility and resistance to mechanical stress.
At just 26 grams, TIGER SUN READING is designed to remain comfortable during prolonged activity. The adjustable nose pad allows the contact point to be adapted more precisely to the wearer, while the temple grip helps maintain a stable position during movement.
During cycling, the combination of a wide sports lens and lower bifocal segment allows the rider to maintain normal forward vision while still having access to close-range information from a cycling computer or GPS.
The wraparound frame also provides useful coverage against wind, insects and small airborne debris commonly encountered on roads and trails.
For runners, the lightweight 26 g construction helps reduce unnecessary weight on the face, while the adjustable nose pad and temple contact points support stability during repeated movement.
The lower bifocal area is particularly useful when checking a sports watch, GPS or heart-rate information without sacrificing the main distance-viewing area of the lens.
TIGER SUN READING uses a Base 8 lens curvature, a strongly curved geometry commonly associated with wraparound sports eyewear. This allows the glasses to sit close to the face and creates the enveloping profile required for active outdoor use.
