DMIRROR Multilayer Mirrored Lens
SPEED VENT uses a DMIRROR multilayer mirrored lens. The external mirrored treatment is designed to reduce the amount of visible light reaching the eye in bright outdoor conditions while giving the eyewear its distinctive technical appearance.
Unlike polarization, a mirrored coating does not work by selectively filtering horizontally reflected glare. Its principal role is to manage incoming visible light through the reflective surface treatment. This makes it particularly relevant for outdoor use where changing exposure, open terrain and strong sunlight can create demanding visual conditions.
The lens is made from polycarbonate, a material widely suited to sports eyewear because of its low weight and strong resistance to impact and fragmentation compared with more brittle lens materials.
