GRAVEL Running & Trail Running Sunglasses with DCHROM® Photochromic Mirrored Lenses
GRAVEL is designed for runners who want broad eye coverage, low weight and a lens that can respond to changing outdoor light. Its DCHROM® photochromic mirrored lens moves through Categories 1–3 as UV exposure changes, combining a lightly tinted starting point with increased protection in brighter conditions. A 30-gram TR90 frame, wraparound Base 8 geometry and adjustable nose pad make the model particularly suited to dynamic road running and trail running, while the removable RIM allows the look of the frame to be changed between a more closed and more open configuration.

Photochromic Running Sunglasses Designed for Changing Conditions
Running routes rarely offer completely uniform light. Open sections can be intensely bright, while tree cover, clouds and changes in direction may quickly reduce the amount of light reaching the eyes. GRAVEL addresses this type of environment with a DCHROM® photochromic lens that automatically changes its level of tint according to UV exposure.
The lens begins at Category 1 and can darken to Category 3, giving the model a useful range for running sessions where lighting conditions vary during the activity. Its starting tint remains lighter than a conventional fixed dark lens, while increased UV exposure activates a darker state for brighter conditions.
The large wraparound shape provides extensive frontal and peripheral coverage. On trails, this geometry creates a useful barrier against airborne dirt, insects and light vegetation that may come close to the face. On the road, the same coverage helps shield the eyes from wind and airborne particles while maintaining a distinctly technical running profile.
Despite the generous shield-style appearance, GRAVEL weighs only 30 grams. The combination of low weight, flexible TR90 construction and an adjustable nose pad is intended to support comfort and stability during movement.
LENS TECHNOLOGY
DCHROM® Photochromic Mirrored Lens: Category 1–3
The DCHROM® lens is photochromic, which means its tint changes in response to UV exposure. In lower UV conditions it remains lighter, while stronger exposure causes the lens to darken progressively. GRAVEL covers a Category 1–3 range, allowing one lens to address a broader variety of outdoor light conditions without requiring a manual lens change.
This is particularly useful for trail running, where a route can alternate between exposed terrain and shaded woodland, and for road running sessions that begin or end under different light conditions.
GRAVEL also features a mirrored outer finish. The mirror contributes to the model's distinctive technical appearance, while the photochromic function is provided by the DCHROM® technology itself.

For road sessions, GRAVEL combines broad coverage with a lightweight 30-gram frame. The adaptive lens helps manage transitions between brighter and less exposed sections of a route, while the wraparound design provides useful shielding from airflow and airborne particles.

GRAVEL uses a polycarbonate lens, a material widely suited to sports eyewear because it combines low weight with good resistance to impact and fragmentation compared with more brittle lens materials. These characteristics are particularly useful for dynamic activities such as running and trail running.
UV400
The lens provides UV400 protection, designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm and therefore cover UVA and UVB wavelengths. This protection is independent of how dark the lens appears: UV filtering remains a dedicated protective characteristic of the lens.
Lightweight TR90 Frame with Adjustable Nose Pad
The GRAVEL frame is made from TR90, a lightweight and flexible material well suited to sports eyewear. Its ability to flex helps the frame accommodate movement and everyday mechanical stress while maintaining a comfortable feel during active use.
30-Gram Construction
At only 30 grams, GRAVEL is designed to limit unnecessary weight on the face. This is especially relevant during longer running sessions, where a lighter frame can contribute to a less intrusive wearing experience.
Adjustable Nose Pad

Base 8 Lens for Broad Sports Coverage
GRAVEL uses a Base 8 lens geometry, a strongly curved format commonly associated with highly wraparound sports eyewear. The pronounced curvature allows the lens to follow the side of the face more closely than a flatter casual frame, contributing to the model's extensive coverage and technical appearance.
For running and trail running, this wraparound profile is useful because it increases the area protected from frontal and lateral airflow, dust and other small airborne elements encountered during movement.
Removable RIM for Two Different Frame Looks
One of the distinctive features of GRAVEL is its removable lower RIM. The component allows the appearance of the sunglasses to be changed between a more closed frame configuration and a more open shield-style look.
An additional contrasting RIM is supplied with the glasses, in white or black depending on the frame colour. This gives the wearer an extra visual option without changing the lens or the main structure of the eyewear.
