Designed for runners who move through changing light conditions, the DEMON 832 combines a lightweight 21-gram sports frame with DCHROM® Category 1–3 photochromic lenses. The lenses adapt their tint in response to UV exposure, making the 832 particularly suited to road running, trail running and routes that alternate between open sunlight and shaded sections. Its wraparound Base 8 geometry, TR90 frame, rubber contact points and compact minimalist construction are designed to provide coverage, stability and comfortable wear throughout training and competition.
Running eyewear needs to remain comfortable while protecting the eyes from wind, dust, insects and rapidly changing outdoor conditions. The 832 approaches this requirement with a deliberately minimal frame that reduces bulk without removing the wraparound character expected from technical sports glasses.
At just 21 grams, the model is designed to feel unobtrusive during longer sessions. Its curved lens geometry extends around the face, while rubber contact areas at the nose and temples help limit unwanted movement during running, changes of pace and uneven terrain.
The central feature is the DCHROM® photochromic lens. Instead of using one fixed tint throughout the entire run, the lens responds to UV exposure by becoming darker in stronger outdoor light and returning towards its lighter state as UV exposure decreases. This makes the 832 particularly useful on routes where brightness changes repeatedly.
The DCHROM® lens fitted to the 832 works across Category 1 to Category 3. Its lighter state retains a slight tint rather than becoming completely clear, while increased UV exposure causes the lens to darken progressively towards Category 3.
For runners, this adaptive behaviour is particularly relevant when moving between exposed roads, woodland, shaded trail sections and brighter open terrain. Instead of requiring a manual lens change, the photochromic filter adjusts its tint according to the surrounding UV conditions.
Photochromic performance depends on UV exposure and environmental conditions, so the exact tint reached can vary during use. The purpose of the system is to provide a broader usable range than a conventional fixed-tint lens while maintaining a single-lens setup.
The combination of low weight, wraparound coverage and an adaptive photochromic lens makes the 832 suitable for road sessions where lighting can change during the route. The curved profile also helps shield the eyes from frontal and lateral airflow while running.
Trails frequently alternate between shaded vegetation and open sections. DCHROM® lenses respond to those changing UV conditions, while the wraparound construction helps protect the eyes from dust, insects and small debris encountered on off-road routes.
For mixed surfaces and uneven terrain, lightweight eyewear and stable contact points can make a noticeable difference to comfort. The 832 combines a compact frame with grip areas designed to help the glasses remain stable during continuous movement.
TR90 is widely used in technical sports eyewear because it combines low weight, flexibility and resistance to everyday mechanical stress. On the 832, it contributes to the model's total weight of only 21 grams.
Soft rubber at the nose and grip material on the temples improve contact with the face and help reduce small unwanted movements during running, vibration and sudden changes of direction.
The Base 8 lens curvature creates a strongly wraparound profile typical of technical sports eyewear. This shape provides broad coverage around the eye area while maintaining a compact silhouette.
The lightweight frame keeps material around the face to a minimum, supporting comfort during prolonged wear while maintaining the stability required for dynamic sports activity.
The DCHROM® lenses are made from polycarbonate, a material valued in sports eyewear for its low weight and impact resistance. Compared with more brittle lens materials, polycarbonate has a high resistance to fragmentation, making it well suited to dynamic outdoor activities.
The lenses also provide UV400 protection, designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm and therefore covering UVA and UVB wavelengths. This UV protection is separate from the photochromic function: DCHROM® technology manages lens tint according to UV exposure, while the UV400 filter provides ultraviolet protection.
