ROUBAIX combines the wide field of view of a shield-style sports frame with an integrated prescription insert positioned behind the main lens. Designed for cycling, running, trail running, hiking and other outdoor sports, it uses a DMIRROR multilayer mirrored polycarbonate lens for bright outdoor conditions together with a lightweight TR90 structure weighing just 30 grams. The result is a technical solution for athletes who require visual correction while still benefiting from wraparound coverage, stability and a distinctly sporty design.

Prescription Vision Inside a Wraparound Sports Frame
ROUBAIX is designed around a wide single-lens architecture that provides extensive frontal and peripheral coverage during movement. This geometry is particularly useful in dynamic outdoor sports, where wind, insects, dust, vegetation and airborne debris can otherwise interfere with concentration.
Instead of replacing the shield lens with a directly glazed prescription lens, the ROUBAIX system uses a separate optical clip behind the main lens. This allows the external sports lens to retain its original shape and mirrored appearance while the inner insert provides the required prescription correction.
The generous size of the optical insert also provides a practical viewing area for sports use, while its Base 6 geometry is specifically designed for the prescription clip.

Coverage, Stability and Low Weight
The wraparound construction helps shield the eyes from frontal and lateral exposure while maintaining the aggressive visual identity of a shield-style sports frame.
At 30 grams, ROUBAIX remains lightweight despite its broad coverage and prescription insert system, making it suitable for prolonged training sessions and outdoor activities.
Lens technology
DMIRROR Multilayer Mirrored Lens
The main ROUBAIX lens uses DMIRROR multilayer mirroring, giving the eyewear its distinctive reflective appearance while helping manage intense visible light in bright outdoor environments.
The lens is designed to maintain clear, natural-looking visual perception and good contrast during sport. Unlike polarization, a mirrored treatment does not work by filtering reflected light through a polarizing layer, so the two technologies should not be considered interchangeable.
ROUBAIX is particularly suited to athletes who want a highly reflective sports lens while retaining good visibility of electronic displays such as cycling computers, watches and other LED or digital screens.
Polycarbonate Construction
The external lens is made from polycarbonate, a material widely suited to dynamic sports eyewear because of its low weight and resistance to impact and fragmentation compared with more brittle lens materials.
Its broad shield construction also increases the protected visual area without requiring a heavy frame structure.
Prescription system
Integrated Optical Clip for Prescription Lenses
ROUBAIX is supplied with a dedicated optical clip positioned behind the main shield lens. The insert can be fitted with prescription lenses by an optician, allowing athletes who require visual correction to use a technical wraparound sports frame without replacing the external DMIRROR lens.

The prescription insert is specified to support a sphere range from −5.00 to +4.00 and a cylinder correction up to ±1.00. The optical clip also supports bifocal and progressive lenses.
Final suitability should always be assessed by the optician according to the individual prescription, lens design and chosen optical solution.
A Base 6 prescription insert uses a sporty curved geometry that integrates naturally behind the wraparound shield while remaining less curved than the Base 8 geometry of the external sports lens.
