ROUBAIX combines the wide protective coverage of wraparound sports sunglasses with a dedicated optical clip for prescription lenses and a DCHROM® Category 1–3 photochromic mirrored lens.
Designed for road cycling, mountain biking, running, trail running and hiking, ROUBAIX is built for athletes who need corrective vision without giving up the coverage, stability and light-adaptive performance of technical sports eyewear. The DCHROM® lens reacts to changing UV exposure, moving from a lightly tinted state toward Category 3 in stronger light, while the prescription insert sits behind the main shield so corrective lenses remain protected within the wraparound structure.

Prescription Sports Glasses Built Around a Wide Wraparound Shield
ROUBAIX is designed for athletes who require vision correction but still want the protection and field of view of a large sports shield. Instead of replacing the main DCHROM® lens with a conventional prescription lens, the model uses a separate optical insert positioned behind the outer shield.
This configuration allows the external lens to retain its strongly curved Base 8 sports geometry, while the prescription clip uses a Base 6 shape specifically intended to hold corrective lenses. The result is a practical solution for cycling, running and outdoor activities where coverage, visual continuity and secure fit are important.
The large lens helps shield the eyes from wind, dust, insects and airborne debris encountered during movement, while the lightweight TR90 structure and Megol grip components are designed to support comfort and stability during prolonged activity.

DCHROM® Photochromic Mirrored Lens – Category 1 to 3
The defining feature of ROUBAIX is its DCHROM® photochromic mirrored lens. Photochromic technology responds to UV exposure: the lens darkens as UV intensity increases and gradually becomes lighter again when exposure decreases.
The Category 1–3 range makes this version suitable for changing outdoor light conditions, from relatively low-light situations to bright daytime environments. This is particularly useful in disciplines such as cycling, trail running and hiking, where an athlete may move repeatedly between open sunlight, cloud cover and shaded terrain.
The mirrored outer finish adds the characteristic technical appearance of the ROUBAIX lens, while the photochromic function remains responsible for its adaptive darkening and lightening.

Road Running

TR90 Construction, Megol Grip and Base 8 Geometry
The ROUBAIX frame is made from TR90, a material widely used in technical sports eyewear for its combination of low weight, flexibility and resistance to mechanical stress. The frame is designed to adapt comfortably around the head without creating an unnecessarily rigid feel.
The external sports lens uses a Base 8 curve, a strongly wrapped geometry that supports the broad coverage typical of performance eyewear. Behind it, the optical insert uses a less curved Base 6 geometry to accommodate prescription lenses.
Soft Megol contact areas at the nose and temples provide additional grip, helping limit unwanted movement caused by vibration, perspiration and repeated changes in head position.
UV400 Polycarbonate Sports Lens
The ROUBAIX DCHROM® lens provides UV400 protection, designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm and therefore covering UVA and UVB wavelengths.
The lens is manufactured from polycarbonate, a lightweight material with good impact resistance and a lower tendency to fragment than more brittle lens materials. These characteristics make polycarbonate particularly suitable for cycling, running and other dynamic outdoor sports.
