GRAVEL is a lightweight pair of photochromic hiking sunglasses designed for trekking, hiking and active mountain use in changing light conditions. Its wide single-lens design provides extensive coverage, while the DCHROM® mirrored photochromic lens starts from a very light tint and progressively darkens up to Category 3 according to UV exposure. With a flexible TR90 frame, a total weight of just 30 grams and a removable lower rim, GRAVEL combines adaptable lens technology with the coverage and comfort required during long days outdoors.

Protection-oriented single-lens design
GRAVEL uses a wide single-lens structure designed to provide extensive coverage around the eyes. On woodland paths and mountain trails, this shape helps create a physical barrier against common outdoor elements such as wind, dust, insects, leaves and small debris.
The broad profile is particularly suited to hikers who prefer a more enveloping sports frame rather than a compact everyday sunglasses shape.
Lightweight construction
Despite its generous dimensions, GRAVEL weighs only 30 grams. The lightweight frame is designed to reduce unnecessary bulk during longer outings, where comfort becomes increasingly important over several hours of use.
The elastic characteristics of the frame also allow it to adapt around the head while maintaining the close-fitting shape expected from technical outdoor eyewear.
DCHROM® Mirrored Photochromic Lens
The defining feature of GRAVEL is its DCHROM® photochromic mirrored lens. The lens reacts to UV exposure by progressively darkening when light conditions become brighter and returning towards its lighter state as UV exposure decreases.
Its starting tint is intentionally very light. This makes the lens particularly useful during changing outdoor conditions, including cloudy weather, shaded trails and the later stages of an outing when available light begins to decrease. At its maximum darkening level, the lens reaches Category 3.
The external mirror develops a purplish-red appearance as part of the product's distinctive look. The view through the lens remains smoke-coloured from the wearer's side, so the external mirror colour should not be confused with the tint perceived while wearing the sunglasses.

- Photochromic response: the lens darkens and lightens according to changes in UV exposure.

Polycarbonate Lens for Active Outdoor Use
The GRAVEL lens is made from polycarbonate, a material widely used in sports eyewear where low weight and impact resistance are important. Compared with more brittle lens materials, polycarbonate offers greater resistance to fragmentation in the event of an accidental impact.
This makes it particularly appropriate for dynamic outdoor activities, where eyewear may be exposed to branches, debris or accidental knocks. The lens also incorporates UV filtration as stated for the DCHROM® technology used on this model.
Flexible TR90 Frame with Removable Lower Rim
TR90 sports frame
GRAVEL uses a TR90 frame, selected for the combination of low weight, flexibility and resistance to the mechanical stresses associated with active use.
Its elastic construction allows the frame to flex around the wearer while maintaining a secure sports-oriented fit without adding unnecessary weight.
Two visual configurations
The lower section of the frame, or RIM, can be removed. This allows GRAVEL to switch between a more enclosed frame appearance and a visually more open configuration.
An additional white RIM is supplied, allowing the colour combination of the glasses to be customised.
Designed for Changing Conditions in the Mountains
Hiking & Trekking
For hiking and trekking, GRAVEL combines a broad protective shape with a photochromic lens that responds as UV exposure changes. This is useful on routes that alternate between exposed terrain, wooded areas, cloud cover and lower-light sections.
Its light weight also makes the model suitable for longer outings where eyewear may remain on the face for extended periods.
Ski Mountaineering
GRAVEL can also be used for ski mountaineering where its wraparound shape provides useful coverage from moving air and airborne particles, while the DCHROM® lens adapts as UV conditions change.
Because this lens reaches a maximum of Category 3, users should consider the specific light conditions of their intended mountain environment when selecting eyewear.
Base 8 Wraparound Profile
GRAVEL uses a Base 8 lens geometry, a strongly curved format commonly associated with highly wraparound sports eyewear. On this model, the curved profile works together with the wide lens to create an enveloping shape around the eye area.
The result is a distinctly technical sports silhouette with extensive frontal and lateral coverage, suited to outdoor activities where wind, dust, insects and vegetation may otherwise interfere with visual comfort.

Customisable Lower Rim
GRAVEL includes an additional white lower RIM. The removable lower frame section allows the appearance of the sunglasses to be changed between an enclosed and a more open configuration, as well as offering an alternative colour combination.
