The result is a pair of trekking sunglasses created for users who want a technical mountain design while retaining the versatility required for general outdoor use.
32-gram construction
The complete eyewear weighs 32 grams. Reduced weight is especially relevant during prolonged use, helping keep the glasses comfortable on the face during walks, trekking routes and other active outdoor situations.
The lightweight construction works together with the curved Base 8 frame geometry to provide a close, sports-oriented fit.
Category 3 Mirrored Smoke Lenses for Bright Conditions
TREKKING uses Category 3 smoke mirrored lenses, a lens category designed for bright outdoor light. Category 3 filtration is particularly suitable when solar intensity is high, making this configuration well matched to trekking and outdoor activities in clear conditions.
The external mirrored finish adds a reflective coating to the lens surface. Its role is distinct from polarization or photochromic technology: the lens remains a fixed Category 3 filter and does not automatically change darkness according to UV exposure.
The lenses are manufactured from polycarbonate, a material widely used in sports eyewear because it combines low weight with good resistance to impacts and fragmentation. This makes it particularly appropriate for active environments where eyewear may be exposed to accidental knocks or contact during movement.
UV400 Protection for Outdoor Exposure
The TREKKING lenses provide UV400 protection. UV400 filtration is designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm, covering both UVA and UVB wavelengths.
UV protection is an important characteristic of mountain and outdoor sunglasses, where exposure to sunlight can be prolonged throughout the day. The UV filter operates independently from the cosmetic mirrored finish of the lens.
