FIANDRE Mirrored Photochromic Cycling Sunglasses
FIANDRE is a pair of photochromic cycling sunglasses developed by DEMON for road cycling, mountain biking, gravel and cycle touring. Its shield-style lens combines wide coverage with a softer, more streamlined shape than the ROUBAIX model, creating a cleaner visual profile without giving up the protection expected from performance cycling eyewear. The DCHROM® mirrored photochromic lens adapts to changing UV exposure, moving from a lightly tinted condition to Category 3 and helping the rider maintain comfortable vision as light conditions change during the route.

Shield Coverage with a More Streamlined Design
FIANDRE was developed for cyclists who appreciate the coverage of a large shield-style lens but prefer a smoother, less angular aesthetic. Compared with ROUBAIX, its lens profile is visually softer and more fluid while retaining the generous frontal coverage required for dynamic riding.
This geometry helps protect the eye area from wind, dust, insects and the environmental debris commonly encountered on both road and off-road routes. The broad lens also creates an open field of vision that suits riding positions where awareness of the surrounding environment is important.
Designed for Changing Conditions
Cycling rarely takes place under perfectly constant light. Routes can move between open roads, wooded sections, changing cloud cover and different times of day. FIANDRE addresses these variations with a photochromic lens that changes tint according to UV exposure rather than requiring a fixed lens tint for the entire ride.
DCHROM® Mirrored Photochromic Lens
The technical core of FIANDRE is its DCHROM® photochromic lens. Photochromic technology responds to ultraviolet radiation through a reversible process that causes the lens to darken as UV exposure increases and gradually return towards its lighter state as exposure decreases.
In FIANDRE, the lens operates across Categories 1 to 3. Its lightly tinted starting condition makes it suitable for lower-light situations, while Category 3 provides the darker tint required when sunlight becomes significantly stronger.
This makes the lens particularly useful on cycling routes where exposure can change repeatedly, reducing the need to stop and replace lenses simply because the weather, surroundings or available light have changed.
What does the mirror finish do?
The external mirror coating gives FIANDRE its distinctive technical appearance. The colour seen from the outside does not determine the colour perceived by the wearer: internally, vision remains based on the smoke-toned photochromic lens.

The FIANDRE frame is made from TR90, a material widely valued in sports eyewear for its combination of low weight, flexibility and resistance to mechanical stress. These characteristics support a comfortable fit during active use and help the frame cope with the repeated movement typical of cycling.
Rubber contact elements contribute additional grip and comfort, helping the sunglasses remain stable during movement and on rougher terrain.
Polycarbonate Shield Lens

UV400 Protection for Outdoor Cycling

As the DCHROM® lens changes tint in response to UV exposure, the rider benefits from an adaptive visible-light tint while retaining the UV protection required for outdoor use.
