GRAVEL is designed for cyclists who regularly move between changing light environments, from exposed roads to shaded woodland trails. Its DCHROM® Category 1–3 photochromic mirrored lens adapts according to UV exposure, while the wide, wraparound Base 8 geometry provides the coverage expected from technical cycling sunglasses. A lightweight TR90 frame, adjustable nose pad and removable lower rim complete a versatile design developed for gravel riding, mountain biking and road cycling.

Built for changing terrain and changing light
Gravel and mountain biking can involve rapid transitions between open sections, wooded trails, shadows and brighter exposed areas. GRAVEL combines broad facial coverage with a photochromic lens system designed to respond to these changes without requiring the rider to manually swap lenses.
The wide lens shape helps create a protective barrier against airflow, dust, insects and small airborne debris encountered while cycling. Its strongly curved Base 8 lens geometry gives the model the wraparound profile typical of performance-oriented sports eyewear.
The result is a cycling model focused on practical versatility: substantial coverage for MTB and gravel routes, together with the low weight and streamlined fit required for longer periods in the saddle.
DCHROM® Category 1–3 photochromic mirrored lens
The DCHROM® lens changes its level of tint according to exposure to UV radiation. Within its stated Category 1–3 range, the lens becomes darker as UV exposure increases and returns towards a lighter state when exposure decreases. This makes GRAVEL particularly useful on cycling routes where light conditions can change repeatedly during the same ride.
At the lighter end of its range, the lens is designed for lower-light environments. As conditions become brighter, it can progress towards Category 3, providing greater light reduction for sunny outdoor conditions. This adaptive behaviour helps reduce the need to choose one fixed lens tint before setting off.
The external mirrored finish gives GRAVEL its distinctive technical appearance. The mirrored treatment and the photochromic function are separate characteristics: the mirror contributes to the lens finish, while DCHROM® technology provides the adaptive change in tint.
UV PROTECTION
UV400 protection
GRAVEL lenses provide UV400 protection, designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm and therefore cover UVA and UVB wavelengths. This is an essential characteristic for eyewear intended for prolonged outdoor cycling use.
LENS MATERIAL
Polycarbonate construction
The lenses are made from polycarbonate, a material widely suited to sports eyewear because of its low weight and resistance to impact and fragmentation compared with more brittle lens materials. These characteristics support practical use in dynamic cycling environments.
Wide coverage for off-road riding
On MTB and gravel routes, eyewear has to deal with more than sunlight. Airborne dust, insects, vegetation and small debris can all become distractions as speed and terrain change. GRAVEL uses a large lens area and wraparound shape to provide broad frontal and lateral coverage while maintaining an open field of vision.
The photochromic Category 1–3 range is particularly relevant when riding between exposed sections and woodland, where brightness can vary considerably during a single route.
Photochromic cycling sunglasses for long road rides
GRAVEL is also suitable for road cycling, where its broad lens helps shield the eyes from airflow, insects and dust. The DCHROM® lens can adapt as a route moves between brighter stretches, shaded roads and areas with variable exposure.
At 30 grams, the frame remains light enough for extended use, while the wraparound geometry keeps the eyewear close to the face for a distinctly sporty fit.

Lightweight TR90 construction
GRAVEL uses a TR90 frame, selected for the combination of low weight, flexibility and resistance to the mechanical stresses associated with active sports use. The flexible structure is designed to sit comfortably around the head without relying on a heavy frame construction.
FIT & COMFORT
Adjustable nose pad
The adjustable nose pad allows the support around the nose to be fine-tuned to the wearer. Correct positioning can help improve stability and comfort while riding, particularly when movement, vibration and perspiration increase.
Removable lower rim
GRAVEL features a removable lower rim, allowing the appearance of the eyewear to be changed between a more enclosed frame configuration and a more open visual style. An additional contrasting rim is supplied with the glasses, with the colour depending on the selected frame configuration.
This feature adds a degree of visual customisation without changing the core lens and frame geometry of the model.
