DMN NIVAL Matte Black Ski & Snowboard Helmet
From early chairlift rides to the final run, a well-fitting snow helmet should feel secure without demanding constant attention. The DMN NIVAL combines a low-profile, matte black exterior with a Double In-Mould construction developed for alpine skiing and snowboarding. Its stated weight of 415 g helps keep the overall setup manageable during long days on the mountain.
A rear adjustment dial lets you fine-tune the circumference within the selected size, including when wearing winter gloves. Internal ventilation channels support air exchange, while cushioned ear coverage, a removable washable antibacterial liner and an adjustable chin strap complete the fit system. A rear goggle-strap retainer helps keep compatible ski goggles positioned with the helmet.
Designed for men and women, NIVAL is declared compliant with CE EN 1077:2007, Class B, the applicable helmet standard for alpine skiing and snowboarding. Its understated finish works equally well with bright outerwear or a more minimal technical snow kit.

Understated design for all-mountain days
A clean silhouette and neutral colour scheme make the helmet easy to pair with different ski goggles and technical clothing.
Double In-Mould construction: how the helmet is built
NIVAL uses a Double In-Mould process in which the external shell and impact-absorbing inner material are integrated during manufacture. The result is a closely assembled structure that avoids the feel of an unnecessarily bulky helmet.
At a declared 415 g, the helmet is intended to balance everyday wearability with the construction requirements of a certified snow-sports helmet. Weight alone is not a measure of impact protection: correct sizing, retention-system adjustment, helmet condition and compliance with the relevant standard all matter.
Integrated shell architecture
The outer shell and inner impact-management material form an integrated construction intended for skiing and snowboarding.
Comfort over successive runs
A relatively low stated weight can help limit the sensation of bulk during lift rides, traverses and repeated descents.

One helmet for different riding styles
Whether you ski groomed pistes or ride a snowboard, choose the correct head circumference first, then use the adjustment dial to refine the fit.
Air circulation, ear coverage and a washable lining
Mountain conditions can change significantly between a sheltered lift, a windy ridge and an active descent. NIVAL brings together passive ventilation and insulating contact points to make the helmet more comfortable across these transitions.
Built-in ventilation
Vent openings promote airflow through the helmet interior and help dissipate accumulated warmth. Their effect depends on speed, weather and the rest of your equipment.
Removable antibacterial lining
The inner padding can be removed and washed in accordance with the care instructions, helping you maintain a fresher helmet across the season.
Soft padded ear sections
Cushioned ear coverage provides a comfortable contact surface and offers a degree of shelter from cold mountain air.
Adjustable buckle and strap
The chin strap is length-adjustable so the retention system can be secured under the chin without excessive slack.
Rear dial adjustment and ski goggle integration
The rear micro-adjustment dial changes the effective fit within the helmet’s designated size range. It is designed to be operated with one hand, even with gloves on. Start with the dial relaxed, put the helmet on level above the eyebrows, then tighten gently until the helmet sits securely without localised pressure.
A rear goggle-strap retaining point helps prevent the elastic strap from sliding off the helmet. Because ski goggles vary in frame geometry, foam thickness and strap position, check that your own goggles sit flush around the face and meet the helmet at the forehead without leaving an uncomfortable gap or pushing the helmet backwards.

Fine-tune the fit without removing your gloves
The combination of an accessible rear dial, integrated ventilation and goggle-strap retention is especially useful when conditions change throughout the day.
Find your NIVAL helmet size
To measure your head, wrap a flexible tape horizontally around its widest circumference, typically just above the eyebrows and ears. Keep the tape snug but do not pull it tight. Compare the result with the size options below.
After fastening the chin strap, gently move your head forwards, backwards and side to side. The helmet should move with your head rather than rocking independently. It should not press painfully against your forehead or temples. The dial is for fine adjustment within the size; it cannot compensate for a helmet that is fundamentally too large or too small.
If your measurement is near either end of a size interval, test the actual fit carefully. Head shape and the interaction with your goggles also influence whether a helmet feels secure and comfortable.

A clean match with technical ski outerwear
The understated shell finish coordinates with a wide range of snow goggles, jackets and accessories without compromising the need for a precise fit.
CE EN 1077:2007 — Class B
The DMN NIVAL helmet is declared compliant with CE EN 1077:2007 Class B, the standard covering helmets for alpine skiing and snowboarding. The standard includes requirements and tests addressing matters such as impact attenuation and retention-system performance.
Class B helmets provide a different coverage configuration from Class A helmets, with less extensive coverage around certain lateral areas, including the ears. Neither class can eliminate all injury risk. Always secure the chin strap correctly, use the helmet only for its intended activities and inspect it before use.
Following an impact: damage to the impact-absorbing structure may not be visible from the outside. After a significant blow, follow the manufacturer’s replacement guidance rather than relying on appearance alone.

Cleaning, drying and storage
Consistent care helps keep the fit system and removable padding in good working condition. Check the shell, buckle, straps and dial before each day on snow, especially after transport or an accidental knock.
Wash the inner padding
Remove the washable liner and clean it only as specified in the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow it to dry fully before refitting.
Clean the outer shell carefully
Follow the recommended cleaning procedure. Avoid solvents, aggressive detergents and treatments not approved for helmet materials.
Use the supplied storage bag
The included non-woven fabric bag helps limit dust and superficial rubbing during storage. It is not a rigid impact-protective case.
Store away from heat
Dry the helmet before putting it away, and avoid excessive heat or loads that could distort the shell or fitted components.
