SUPERPIUMA is a pair of ultralight running sunglasses with mirrored lenses designed for road running, trail running and triathlon. Its wide, highly curved Base 8 lens provides extensive coverage, while the 20-gram TR90 frame, adjustable nose pad and streamlined single-lens construction are engineered for stability and comfort during dynamic sports. The DMIRROR lens range includes three configurations developed for different environments and light conditions: ILLUMIA Category 2, OFFROAD Category 3 and ROAD Category 3. Together with UV400 protection and impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses, SUPERPIUMA combines low weight, coverage and sport-focused visual performance.
SUPERPIUMA is built around a wide single-lens design that helps shield the eyes from direct and lateral light as well as environmental elements encountered while running, including wind, dust and insects.
This extended coverage is particularly useful in disciplines where speed and constant movement expose the face to changing conditions. Despite its generous proportions, SUPERPIUMA weighs only 20 grams, helping maintain a light and unobtrusive feel during longer sessions.
The frame incorporates an adjustable nose pad, allowing the contact point around the nose to be fine-tuned for improved fit and stability. Rubberized contact areas further support grip during movement, helping the glasses remain secure while running over both smooth and uneven terrain.
The SUPERPIUMA range uses DMIRROR multilayer mirrored lenses. A mirrored external treatment helps manage intense visible light while giving the eyewear its distinctive technical appearance. Each lens option has different light transmission, tint and category characteristics so runners can select the configuration most suited to their environment.
The ILLUMIA lens is the multisport option in the SUPERPIUMA range. Its pink base tint is designed to enhance the perception of colours and smaller visual details, making it suited to medium and lower brightness conditions.
OFFROAD is designed for outdoor environments where natural colours dominate the field of view. It enhances yellow, green and brown tones and is particularly relevant for activities on trails and mixed terrain.
ROAD is the Category 3 option designed for brighter conditions and high-speed activities. Its smoke base tint makes it particularly suitable for road running, road cycling and marathon use in strong daylight.
The large shield-style lens provides broad frontal and peripheral coverage, helping protect the eyes from wind, dust, insects and other external elements encountered during running.
The TR90 construction combines low weight and flexibility, characteristics well suited to sports eyewear worn during prolonged and highly dynamic activity.
The adjustable nose pad allows the fit around the bridge of the nose to be refined, helping improve positioning and stability during movement.
Trail running places different demands on eyewear compared with running exclusively on paved roads. Vegetation, insects, dust, wind and frequent changes in terrain make coverage and stability especially important.
SUPERPIUMA's broad wraparound design helps shield the eye area while the low-weight frame keeps the glasses comfortable during climbs, descents and longer off-road sessions. Rubberized contact areas and the adjustable nose pad contribute to a more secure fit when the runner is exposed to repeated movement and vibration.
For brighter trail conditions, the Category 3 OFFROAD lens combines 16% light transmission with a tint specifically designed to emphasise yellow, green and brown tones commonly encountered in outdoor terrain.
The wraparound Base 8 geometry provides wide coverage at speed, helping shield the eyes from airflow, dust and insects. The ROAD Category 3 lens is specifically designed for brighter conditions.
The combination of broad lens coverage, a 20-gram frame and stable contact points makes SUPERPIUMA particularly suited to movement over trails and variable terrain.
Low weight, wraparound protection and a sport-focused fit also make SUPERPIUMA suitable for triathlon, where secure eyewear and broad coverage are valuable during the running and cycling stages.
SUPERPIUMA lenses are made from polycarbonate, a material widely used for performance sports eyewear because it combines low weight with good resistance to impact and fragmentation. These characteristics are particularly relevant for running and trail running, where eyewear may be exposed to accidental contact with debris, vegetation or other external elements.
The lenses also provide UV400 protection, designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm and therefore covering both UVA and UVB wavelengths.
Mirrored coating and UV protection are separate characteristics: the mirrored finish manages visible light and creates the characteristic external appearance of the lens, while UV400 refers specifically to ultraviolet protection.
The SUPERPIUMA frame is made from TR90, selected for its combination of low weight, flexibility and suitability for active use. The complete eyewear weighs only 20 grams, reducing unnecessary load during long runs and endurance activities.
Its Base 8 lens curvature creates a strongly wraparound geometry typical of technical sports sunglasses. This shape allows the lens to follow the contours of the face more closely than a flatter lifestyle lens, increasing lateral coverage while maintaining the aggressive single-lens profile of SUPERPIUMA.
