STUBAIER PLUS is a pair of mirrored mountain sunglasses designed for hiking and mountaineering, combining wide wraparound coverage with a lightweight 25-gram construction. The large DMIRROR lens helps protect the eyes from intense mountain light, wind and airborne debris, while the Base 8 geometry creates a close, enveloping profile designed for active outdoor use.
The Category 3 smoke mirrored lens is made from impact-resistant polycarbonate and provides UV400 protection. A flexible TR90 frame and soft Megol grip areas support comfort and stability during movement, while removable lateral protection parts provide additional shielding from side light when required.

STUBAIER PLUS has been developed for mountain users looking for a large, protective eyewear design without the weight normally associated with oversized sports frames. Its broad lens shape increases coverage around the eyes and helps shield the wearer from wind, dust, insects and small debris encountered on trails and exposed mountain terrain.
The strongly curved Base 8 lens geometry creates a wraparound profile that follows the face more closely than flatter eyewear. This design supports peripheral coverage and helps limit unwanted lateral light, an important consideration when spending long periods outdoors in bright mountain environments.

DMIRROR Category 3 Mirrored Lens
STUBAIER PLUS uses a DMIRROR multi-layer mirrored lens with a smoke base tint. The mirrored outer treatment is designed for bright outdoor environments and gives the eyewear its distinctive technical appearance while contributing to visual comfort in strong light.
The lens is classified as Category 3, making it suitable for bright sunlight and typical high-luminosity outdoor conditions. Unlike a polarized filter, a mirrored treatment should not be confused with polarization: STUBAIER PLUS is specified here according to its confirmed mirrored lens technology.
The lens is manufactured from polycarbonate, a lightweight material with good impact resistance and a lower tendency to fragment than more brittle lens materials, making it particularly appropriate for dynamic outdoor activities.
UV400 Protection for Mountain Use
The STUBAIER PLUS lens provides UV400 protection, designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm and therefore covering UVA and UVB wavelengths.
This is particularly relevant in outdoor mountain environments, where the eyes can be exposed to strong solar radiation for extended periods.
