GRAVEL is a pair of mirrored hiking sunglasses designed for hiking, mountaineering and ski mountaineering. Its wide, wraparound shape provides extensive coverage around the eyes, while the DMIRROR Category 3 lens is designed for bright daylight conditions. A lightweight TR90 frame, Megol contact points and a weight of just 30 grams make GRAVEL particularly suited to active outdoor use, where protection, stability and comfort need to work together throughout the day.

Wide Coverage for Hiking and Mountain Activities
Mountain environments expose the eyes to more than sunlight. Wind, dust, insects, vegetation and airborne debris can all become distracting during movement. GRAVEL combines a broad single-lens design with a strongly curved Base 8 geometry, creating the wraparound profile expected from technical sports eyewear.
This wide construction is especially useful on hiking trails and in mountain terrain, where lateral coverage can help shield the eye area from branches, leaves and particles encountered along the route. At the same time, the 30-gram frame keeps the overall construction light enough for extended outdoor activity.
Hiking & Mountaineering
The wraparound shape provides broad coverage for forest trails, exposed paths and mountain routes. The Category 3 mirrored lens is intended for bright conditions, while the lightweight frame supports comfortable use during longer outings.
Ski Mountaineering
GRAVEL can also be used for ski mountaineering, where its wide lens helps protect the eye area from wind, snow and airborne particles. The Category 3 lens is designed for bright daylight; for environments requiring Category 4 protection, a dedicated Category 4 model should be considered instead.
DMIRROR Category 3 Mirrored Lens
GRAVEL uses a DMIRROR smoke Category 3 lens with a multilayer mirrored surface. Category 3 lenses are designed for bright sunlight and are therefore well suited to outdoor activities carried out in strong daylight.
The mirrored finish helps manage the amount of visible light reaching the eye while also giving GRAVEL its distinctive technical appearance. Mirroring and polarization are different technologies: the DMIRROR lens should not be described as polarized unless polarization is specifically stated for the selected version.

UV400 Protection and Polycarbonate Lens
UV400 Protection
The GRAVEL lens provides UV400 protection, designed to filter ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nm and therefore covering UVA and UVB wavelengths. This makes UV protection independent from the visible darkness or mirror colour of the lens.
Polycarbonate Construction
The lens is made from polycarbonate, a material widely suited to sports eyewear because of its low weight and resistance to impact and fragmentation compared with more brittle lens materials. These characteristics are particularly relevant during dynamic outdoor activities.
Lightweight TR90 Frame with Megol Grip
The GRAVEL frame is made from TR90, a lightweight and flexible material particularly suitable for sports eyewear. Its ability to tolerate the mechanical stresses associated with active use helps combine a broad protective shape with a total weight of only 30 grams.
The rubberized contact areas, including the nose pad, use soft hypoallergenic Megol. Its grip properties help limit small unwanted movements of the glasses during activity, supporting a more stable fit when walking, climbing or moving over uneven terrain.
GRAVEL also features a removable lower RIM. Removing it changes the visual character of the frame from a more closed design to a more open configuration, allowing the appearance of the glasses to be customised without changing the main lens.
Two Looks from the Same GRAVEL Frame
The detachable lower RIM is one of the distinguishing elements of this version of GRAVEL. It allows the wearer to modify the appearance of the eyewear while retaining the same wide single-lens construction. An additional RIM is supplied with the relevant versions; its colour can vary according to the frame colour and configuration.
