Double Lenses for Ski and Snowboard Goggles
Double lenses are a special technology used for snowboard and ski goggles. It looks like a “Sandwich” of two lenses, an external lens in smoke, orange, blue, pink or transparent depending on the model and an internal one with a smaller thickness completely transparent, glued using a special spongy plastic material.
The operation of this technology is the same as that of double-glazed windows, it clearly separates the cold of the external temperature from the heat of the internal temperature by contrasting and preventing the internal surface from fogging.
The inner surface of the inner lens is equipped with anti-fog treatment to counter even more effectively the fogging. Some models are also equipped with strong aeration on the lens for greater ventilation, generally caused by a lower mounting of the frame.
Both lenses are made of high-quality anti-break polycarbonate. From a safety point of view, polycarbonate is the safest on the market for protection (in sports and work) from accidental impacts due to its unbreakable quality.
In the event of a very strong impact, the lens does not generate any kind of fragment that could damage the eyes but destroys the shock throughout the surface forming the spider web effect that invalidates the lens.
In addition to safety, polycarbonate is very light and flexible, it is also able to withstand without deformation at high and low temperatures.
