The difference between a 2-4 photochromic lenses versus a category 4 technical lens lies in the color change of the lens according to the light intensity of the location where you are. The very dark category 4 lens in areas of strong shadow caused by a wall or a dense bush can sometimes be a limit. The photochromic lens adapts itself according to the UV intensity and remains clear in the shaded areas allowing the optimal vision of the path and of any obstacles present, while in the areas of light with strong irradiation it darkens automatically reaching category 4. To allow your eyes the perfect vision even in the intense solar conditions typical of the high mountains, especially in glacier areas, offering you excellent comfort.

The polarized lens offers protection from UV rays, but not only: in fact this special type of lens is able to concentrate or diverge the rays of light and to attenuate UV-A and UV-B radiation through a polarizing filter that eliminates transverse reflexes. These lenses allow you to shield the glare and those annoying reflections created when sunlight reflects on reflective surfaces, such as the wet asphalt of the road, a body of water or a metal surface. It is no coincidence that, the invention of the polarized lens, was due to the sport of fishing for the characteristic of eliminating reflections, it is often used for sports related to water.

Polarized lenses are very performing for mountaineering, and especially when the UV rays are more intense, they allow greater relaxation for the eyes even for very prolonged use and with very intense light conditions.

The ultra-light and elastic material of the frame is TR90, our special composition in Nylon and Carbon fiber that makes mountain sunglasses 20% lighter than conventional materials, more resistant to accidental bumps and tractions and more resistant to high and low temperatures. An essential feature during the practice of mountaineering, especially in glacier areas. This feature also contrasts very well the increase in overall weight caused by the prescription lenses used in the optical clip.

Also essential is the removable internal sponge in soft neoprene, which does not allow those annoying drops of sweat to reach your eyes, during the most delicate and most fatiguing phases of your excursion. It also does not allow light to filter through, as it adheres perfectly to the face, and in case of strong wind, it prevents the entry of snow, earth and small dirt found along the way.

The temples are equipped with a special Grip section, which serves to prevent those annoying micro-slips towards the tip of the nose, in phases of strong fatigue, vibrations or sudden movements. The nose pads and terminals are in hypoallergenic rubber, soft, super light and anti-slip, to consistently elevate the fit.
