LAYER is the new concept of sports optical frames. This special sports optical frame differs from all the other most common frames for three characteristics, which make it unique in its kind:
Lightness and Stability: Compared to common sports optical frames, the LAYER model is characterized by an ultralight frame covered on the inside with non-allergenic non-slip rubber (typical of sports eyewear). It therefore has important characteristics, such as grip, stability and comfort.
Base 6: Very important is the role played by the use of lenses with low curvature, which allow a simpler graduation, and the assembly of any type of lens. It is therefore possible to mount lenses for the correction of any visual defect, from mono focal, bifocal or progressive lenses.
Design: The design is that of the frame that can be used daily for any activity, and which becomes excellent in sports practice. It is therefore also perfect as a first RX optical frame.
Technical features:
The LAYER RX optical sports frame is made of TR90, a special composition of carbon fiber and nylon that makes it 20% lighter than conventional materials, more resistant to mechanical traction and accidental impacts, increasing its duration over time.
The inner part is in hypoallergenic rubberized material, designed and created to provide maximum stability of the glasses in any sporting activity and to provide perfect comfort. In combination with the frame, the nose pad is also made of soft hypoallergenic rubber and prevents all those annoying micro-slips towards the tip of the nose that disturb during performance.
The base 6 lens therefore allows the creation of any type of prescription lens: Mono focal, Bifocal and Progressive. It will therefore also be possible to create the type of lens you prefer such as: Photochromic, mirror photochromic, Polarized, Mirrored, etc. …
The real peculiarity of this sports RX optical frame is the extreme technicality of the materials that make LAYER perfect for practicing any sport. At the same time, thanks to the design studied in detail, it can be used as an RX optical frame in everyday life.
Supplied with adjustable elastic cord to increase the grip and stability of the glasses even for sports that require sudden and sudden movements of the head (ex: Tennis)

Tips for choosing RX prescription lenses by type of sport:
MTB: photochromic lenses with transparent starting color recommended to be mounted by your trusteed optician. You will then have a pair of dynamic RX glasses that quickly adapt to sudden changes of light normally experienced during mountain biking.
Road cycling: Generally, those who use road bikes prefer a category 3 smoke lens, since they do not need the reactivity of a photochromic lens given the few changes of light that generally accompany the athlete along the path.
Running and Trail Running: It always depends on the time of the performance, we recommend, given the wide possibilities of running at any time, to choose photochromic lens, with a transparent starting color, which can be used at night, during the day or as a simple protection from the air.
Tennis: We also recommend the creation of a photochromic lenses for tennis, if you use LAYER at night or even indoors. When outdoors the lens will react based on solar and UV intensity.
Beach Volleyball: Due to the strong UV intensity, we recommend choosing a category 3 mirrored lens as for road cycling.
Other sports: Evaluate the amount of time you are exposed to sunlight and how many light changes you will face. If the light changes are mostly minimal, we recommend choosing a category 3 smoke lens, while if the light changes are many, select photochromic lenses.
It is necessary to choose an anti-break lens, to protect the eye in case of accidental shocks. Optional are also additional specific treatments to apply to ophthalmic lenses.
