Our photochromic mountaineering eyewear with side shields plays a key role in all of this and a perfect fit and the right technical features allow you to focus solely on performance. The PLANET model guarantees protection from UV rays and perfect vision thanks to the first quality anti-scratch polycarbonate lenses, decentralized and optically perfect. The super light and elastic material of the frame is in TR90, a special composition of nylon and carbon fiber, which makes the photochromic mountaineering glasses with side protectors 20% lighter than conventional materials and more robust to accidental impacts and tractions.

Technical features:

The PLANET mountaineering model mounts 2-4 photochromic lenses. Photochromic lenses are lenses that, when exposed to UV radiation or sunlight in general, initiate a reversible chemical reaction and darken. Once the light irradiation disappears, the lenses gradually return to their initial state of transparency. The 2-4 photochromic lenses indicated for the practice of mountaineering and ski mountaineering differ from common photochromic lenses because they start from category 2 and reach protection category 4 at the moment of maximum exposure to UV-A and UV-B rays.

The difference between a 2-4 photochromic lens versus a category 4 technical lens lies in the color change of the lens according to your path. The very dark category 4 lens in areas of strong shadow caused by a wall or a dense bush can sometimes be a limit.

The photochromic lens adapting according to the UV intensity remains clear in the shaded areas allowing the optimal vision of the path and any obstacles present, while in the areas of light with strong irradiation it darkens automatically reaching category 4. To allow your eyes the perfect vision even in the intense solar conditions typical of the high mountains, especially in glacier areas, offering you excellent comfort.

Included is the adjustable Neoprene band, to allow our photochromic mountaineering glasses to adhere better in the most difficult passages, and to prevent those annoying little slips forward that drastically decrease in comfort.

The soft hypoallergenic rubber nose pads are adjustable and non-slip to offer an excellent fit and adapt to any face shape, also greatly reducing the risk of slipping.

The removable side parts allow you to change the look of your glasses, transforming it if your acticity is also just a normal walk in the mountains.
